View Full Version : Breaking down the math involved in Fighting.

I am trying to understand the math involved in fighting. I've read that you can only fight with 5 X Level. And I've read to have them all equipped with 1 of each power. I am level 34 and have 276 clan. So it is my understanding that I will fight with only 170 clan members. That given here's how I see the math working. My Powers are as follows:Physical 10 fangs, 20 Claws, 10 Moonlight Healing, 10 Manic Strength, 10 Strength of Will, 90 Beast forms, 10 Silent Movement and 10 Preternatural Strength. Sensory 8 Charisma, 10 Sense Vampire, 10 Cause terror, 10 Cloud Minds, 10 Sense Werewolf, 110 Cause Agony, 10 Assuage pain, 1 Sense Life and 1 Control Mind. Mystical 20 Rat Forms, 20 Cloaks of Darkness and 130 Bat Forms. Now if you multiply the attack number for each power used (130 Bat forms = 130 X 6 = 780). My total attack would be 2,178. (plus whatever my personal attack stat is). I should be able to beat anybody I attack that has less then 2178 total defense. Have I totally confused everyone now. I will try to reorganize my thoughts and try again. Anyone that can break it down in a simpler for please do.

You have the basics. There are modifiers, at least in other, similar games, that give the attacker a slight advantage on top of their rating, from what I understand, but otherwise your breakdown is correct.

There must be a flaw in my calculations see below;
Hmm...
Your Clan attacked with: 10 Preternatural Strength, 1 Control Mind, 130 Bat Form, 110 Cause Agony, 90 Beast Form, 1 Sense Life, 10 Strength of Will, 20 Cloak of Darkness, 10 Cloud Minds, 10 Manic Strength, 10 Assuage Pain, 10 Sense Werewolf, 10 Cause Terror, 20 Claws, 20 Rat Form, 10 Sense Vampire, 8 Charisma, 10 Fangs
pie eater 69's Clan had: 1 Control Mind, 1 Flight, 22 Sense Life, 1 Uncanny Hearing, 2 Cause Dissension, 3 Assuage Pain, 40 Silent Movement, 2 Preternatural Strength, 68 Bat Form, 3 Sense Werewolf, 4 Cause Agony, 2 Strength of Will, 5 Cloud Minds, 9 Cause Terror, 25 Manic Strength, 1 Moonlight Healing, 7 Cloak of Darkness, 8 Beast Form, 1 Sense Vampire, 2 Claws, 25 Charisma, 1 Sense Evil
You were humiliated, losing 31 Health; however, you also dealt 28 Health points in damage to your rival.
You went to regenerate Health.
I have an attack of 2178, pie eater has a defense of less than 800. By my calculations I should have beaten them.

this can usually mean one of three things
1)We can upgrade our attack and defense stats for a reason back in Vamps (when i played it >.>) I ran into someone who just focused on attack and had only 1 defense point)
2)I ain't gonna bother doing all the math myself but have u done his math as well. Although i see you have a lot of better stuff than he has but u might want to check both his attack and defense stats.
3)This is rare but in some apps the amount of damage isn't a FACT but instead a RANGE there have been times when someone beats me once with a certain stat count then a second attack i beat them my guess is that range is given ex. 7000-8500 attack range on one attack, etc.

Indeed, there is a bit of randomness added to the equation, otherwise you would always score the same damage against one person. The difference between 31 and 28 is well within this range.
Ginrikuzuma is also correct, that some people build extreme characters, focusing on either defense or attack, and the former, especially, is incredibly powerful in their own way. Usually they are the hit-list riders that can stay up for hours, since they only get hit for a few damage by just about anybody.

I did calculate the stat factor in. We were both level 35 which means if he dumped every point into defense he would have a defense stat of 105 (35 X 3 ) but even with 105 extra defense my attack is still double what his defense is. I'm not going to wrack my brain over it if someone knows how the app calculates who wins and who loses please post it. Thanks for the input.

I have always thought that the stat points were distributed through clan. as in if you have all defense at lvl 34 ie 105(35x3) them each clan would getthe stat 17850 (105x170). takeing this into consideration would raise your attack number also but may make it closer in range and account for the normal 10% (ibeleave this is the number) deviation the game throws in. Just a thought.

I do not have an answer to how the fights are calculated and I'm not going to worry about it. I just figure "win some .. lose some".
However in ur example, I agree that u have an attack of 2178, but I find that Pie Eaters 69 clan had a defense of around 1100. One of us made a mistake. And....I don't know the clan size of the fight.....clan size does have something to do with it also. If ur clan was bigger... I agree u should have won. :)

I want to know how the game decides how much blood to give you for each fight. How can I fight someone and get 0 blood.

this explains the fighting nicely : Delano'sBloodline Wiki /Fight (http://breakentropy.com/index.php/Fight)
it's how i found out i'll never ever have a chance wining against one of my fellow riders, so i just clanned up with all of them.
